Welcome to the Alanson Area Public Library

"The world of books is the most remarkable creation of man. Nothing else that he builds ever lasts. Monuments fall, nations perish, civilizations grow old and die out, and after an era new races build others. But in the world of books are volumes that have seen this happen again and again and yet live on, still young, still as fresh as the day they were written, still telling men's hearts of the hearts of men centuries dead."
~ Clarence Day

Per Executive Orders
issued regarding the COVID-19 virus pandemic,
Michigan’s libraries remain closed until further notice.

Anna LaRue will staff the office during this time in order to perform essential operations.
Only one staff person will be in the office at a time, and no in-person business will be conducted.

During this period, all due dates will be extended until we are allowed to re-open,
&/or incurred fines will be waived.
Checked-out materials may be returned in the book drop,
however, we are not able to accept used book donations at this time.

We will also be periodically monitoring and returning phone and e-mail messages.
This is an unprecedented situation for us all, and we apologize for the inconvenience.
We will re-open as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please continue to access digital resources
via the
Great Lakes Digital Library/Overdrive/Libby , Hoopla
and MeL eResources.

Also, through June 30, 2020 Ancestry.com
