ALANSON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY 

 REGULAR BOARD MEETING

 August 3, 2016

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 pm.  Trustees present were Pat McFarland, Sue Warner, and BR Smith. Library Director, Anna LaRue, was also present.   Anne Billiard was absent.  No guests were in attendance.

Minutes:    Minutes of the July 6, 2016 regular board meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report:  Due to the absence of Anne Billiard there was no report.

Director’s Report:

·         Cash and usage report was reviewed.

·         Program report:

Ron Fowler’s story hours will begin again 9/20/16 to 10/25/16

July 16, Puppet Show - smaller attendance this time  

 Bismarck Program; July 20^th – approx. 60 in attendance

 Ron Fowler’s Saturday Program - low attendance, may have been the competition that day

August 17, 7:00 Amelia Earhart Program, with Larry Inman

September 17 – Pumpkin carving

·         Unique Management Program – offered us another 30 days; does not seem to be working.

·         September 16, Anna will attend a Library Director’s workshop in Lansing

·         Pat moved to accept the director’s report, supported by BR.  Report accepted.

Unfinished Business:

·         Still no contract from H.S., fees paid however. 

·         Riverfest: 12, 13, 14.   Book Sale – Friday set up 5:00; Saturday sale 10-2; Sunday sale and take down 1-3.

New Business:

·         No new business.

Next meeting - September 7, 6:00 p.m.
