REGULAR BOARD MEETING

October 5, 2016

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by Vice President, BR Smith at 6:00 pm.  Those present were Pat McFarland, Sue Warner, and Library Director, Anna LaRue.  Absent were Joan Niewiadomski and Anne Billiard.  No guests were in attendance.

Minutes:     Minutes of the September 7, 2016 regular board meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report: 

·         Due to Anne’s absence there was no report.

Director’s Report:

·         Cash and usage report was reviewed.

·         Program report: 90 attended the Grand Hotel Program;  30 at the Lord of the Gourd

·         Ron Fowler’s last story hour is Oct.26

·         Sherry returns Oct. 24

·         Letter to the editor in the Petoskey N/R was read and discussed, and the library millage article.

·         Book Club will meet the first Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.   Book for October is: Isadore’s Secret, by Mardi Jo Link.

·         Restroom closed again

·         Sue Kissinger will be gone 6 weeks – schedule covered

·         Sue moved to accept the director’s report, supported by Pat.  Report accepted.

Unfinished Business:

New Business:

·         DDA has requested businesses make scarecrows and have them on display by Oct. 14. Workshop planned for Tuesday, 10/11/16 at 5:30.
