Annual Budget Meeting and Regular Monthly Meeting

Meeting called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 p.m.  Trustees present, were Anne Billiard, B.R. Smith, and Sue Warner, and Bonnie Weaver.  Library Director, Anna LaRue, and Sherry Webster were also present.

Minutes:

• Minutes of the May 15, 2013 budget workshop meeting, were read and approved

 

Motion:  The budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year was presented.  Discussion followed.  B.R. made the motion to approve the budget for the 2013-1014 fiscal year. Supported by Sue; budget approved.

 

Budget meeting adjourned at 6:10.

 

 

Regular monthly meeting called to order at 6:15.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

• Anne presented the bills to be paid, the profit and loss statements, and the bank statements for initialing
• Sue made the motion to pay the monthly bills, supported by Bonnie.  Motion carried.
• Total liabilities and equity as of May 31, 2013,  $63,888.57
• The check from Littlefield Township was received.
• Sue moved to accept the treasurer’s report, supported by Bonnie.  Report approved.

Library Director’s Report:

• The cash and usage report was discussed.
• Michicard pros and cons were discussed – will revisit at a later date.
• Summer reading programs, E-Reader class, and a possible book signing with local author were discussed.
• The book renewal policy, which is in place, will be enforced.
• An optional program using PayPal for paying library fees (fines) was discussed.  We will revisit this issue.
• B.R. moved to accept the librarian’s report, supported by Bonnie.  Motion carried.

Unfinished Business:

• Book Club will be on Monday, June 24, at 11:00.  New book: “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry”
• FOAL meeting Wed., June 12 at 6:30.  They need donations for the silent auction at Riverfest.  July 27 deadline for these donations.
• Book Sale: Friday, August 9, set up from 4-6; sale Sat., August 10 from 10-2; and Sunday from 12-2.

New Business:

• Election of officers:  B.R. moved that the present slate of officers remain the same.  Supported by Sue.  Election over!
• July meeting date change because of the 4^thholiday – meeting will be on July 10^th.
