Friends of the Library

 Join Our Friends Group

Friends groups are so important to libraries. Friends help with fundraising, volunteering and getting the word out about library needs. We are excited to have such a great group. The Friends of the Alanson Library was formed on May 8, 2012. There are approximately twenty members in the group and we hope that it will continue to grow. We meet periodically throughout the year to organize events, so check here for meeting dates.

Along with organizing the annual Used Book Sale that takes place every year during Alanson's Riverfest (the second full weekend of August), other projects have included a winter book sale, a community garage sale and a wine-tasting event. Friends members are pictured at right toasting to the good health of the Alanson Area Public Library.

With the monies made from these events, we have been able to buy the Library some needed equipment and provide support for various types of new programs for the public. All members of the community are invited to attend. Get in on the ground level and help us make our library even more successful.

Thank you for your support!
