Dinosaur Day with PaleoJoe
On July 21, 2014 "PaleoJoe", a real life paleontologist from lower Michigan, dropped by to tell tales from his actual dinosaur digs in Utah. He described different kind of dinosaurs, meat eating and plant eating. He showed the audience different teeth from the herbivore (plant eating dinosaur) which are flat on top for chewing plants and a long sharp tooth from a rapture (meat eating dinosaur). He also had a partial jaw bone from a rapture that showed multiple sets of teeth to replace ones that break off or fall out. The highlight of the day, especially for the kids, was petrified "dino poop". PaleoJoe was informative as well as entertaining and allowed the audience to ask questions. He is also the author of a children's book series called the "Dinosaur Detective Club', which were available for purchase. The library has the series and will soon be available for checkout.
