We are a sub-regional library with the Michigan Bureau of Services for Blind Persons, Braille and Talking Book Library, Labor & Economic Opportunity (LEO). Michigan residents who are: blind, visually impaired, unable to read standard-sized print, unable to hold a book, or unable to read because of a reading disability resulting from an organic dysfunction (e.g. dyslexia) are eligible to receive audio and braille books and magazines for all age levels and reading interests. Services also are available to schools with eligible students and institutions with eligible patients, clients, or residents. This program is available at no charge and is made possible by the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
Print the Application (PDF) or Submit an Online Application - The online application may be used by certifying authorities or an applicant with a certifying authority present to certify the application. A certifying authority, in this case, is a professional such as a doctor, nurse, rehabilitation professional, counselor, therapist, social worker, or library professional.
