Thanks again to all of our Summer Reading participants for another great year, and also to our sponsors and partners who make the program possible: Syl's Cafe, Cloverland Cinemas, The Ontonagon Herald, our local Knights of Columbus chapter, and Scholastic's Family and Community Engagement program.

Together, you read over 800 books this summer--that's estimated at over 1 and a half million words!

BUT SUMMER ISN'T OVER YET!!!

NEXT MONDAY, 8/21/17 is the ALL AMERICAN SOLAR ECLIPSE. We have limited supplies of eclipse glasses still available, but supplies are dwindling fast! When we are down to fifty pairs of glasses on hand, we will stop distributing them. The last fifty pairs of eclipse glasses will be held at the library until noon the day of the eclipse to be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone who wishes to gather at the library to watch the eclipse is welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair and meet on the lawn of the township building. Prime eclipse viewing in Ontonagon will be approximately 1 PM to 3 PM EST.

NEXT WEDNESDAY, 8/23/17 at 4:00 PM there will be a live demonstration by the M-64 AERO SQUADRON, a local group of model/RC aircraft enthusiasts. They are going to have some really impressive projects on hand to show you, and YES, STUFF IS GONNA FLY FOR REAL AND IT'S GONNA BE COOL. This is a free program, and no sign-up is required. Meet at the Village Rec. Center; the event will be held on the baseball field (or inside the rec center building, depending on the weather.)

And if you get jealous when the kids go back to school, we've got you covered! Our FOUR WEEK FINN class is coming back for another session starting September 13th. $20 for four classes. Spaces for new students are VERY LIMITED so get in touch with library staff if you're interested.
