ALANSON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

March 4, 2015

Regular Meeting Minutes 

          The regular monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:15 p.m.  Trustees present were Anne Billiard, Pat McFarland, B.R. Smith, and Sue Warner.  Library Director, Anna LaRue, and Sherry Webster were also          present. 

Minutes:

            The minutes of the February11, meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

• Anne presented the profit and loss statement; monthly expense report; bills to be paid for February.
• The motion to pay all monthly bills was made by Pat, and supported by Sue.  Motion carried.
• Current balance of equity and liabilities: $92,940.47
• Anna will contact Burley’s Insurance Agency to discuss the library’s contents coverage
• B.R. made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report.  Supported by Pat; report approved.

Librarian’s Report:

• Cash and Usage report was presented
• Book Club report was discussed  - good first meeting
• Anna is working on more programs for this summer
• April 24^th there will be a meeting of the North Corridor Libraries in Cheboygan from 1-4.
• Library Certification Workshop is May 12-14.  Betsy and Sherry will attend. Registration fees are $140.00 per/person; lodging is $95.00 for a shared room.
• Sue moved to accept the Library Director’s report, supported by B.R.  Report accepted.

Unfinished Business:

• Burley Insurance and Book Club – both discussed in earlier discussions

New Business:

• Anna’s annual evaluation is scheduled for Monday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m.
• FOAL meeting is Wednesday, March 11, at 6:00.  The Wine and Cheese event brought in just over $700.00.    They hope to do this again…
• Library Week Ideas – check the website and hope to share ideas with FOAL
