Alanson Library Board of Directors

 

Minutes of Meeting April 16, 2015 

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. 

Members Present:  Anne Billiard, Anna LaRue, Joan Niewiadomski and Pat McFarland

Members Not Present:  Sue Warner and BR Smith 

Business:

Motion to approve by Anne Billiard and seconded by Pat McFarland, February and March statements.  Received 2nd quarter check from Village. 

E-mailed Alissa for price break on audit.  Have not heard back from her yet. 

Motion from Pat McFarland to pay bills.  Approved by Joan Niewiadomski. 

Reviewed and approved Treasurers report.  

Directors Report:

Upcoming programs:

* Bill Jamerson on Aug. 20, 2015.  His cost is $200.  Do we want him to come again?   * * Check with Tom Fairbairn regarding the History of the Inland Waterway to do a program.

* In the fall see if Teresa Irish is available to speak about “1,000 Letters from Home” a WWII  memoir of letters her father wrote to her mother.  Is this something that The Friends of Alanson Library would like to pay for?  Cost possibly $250.

* Do we want to have another ancestry class?  Has been very well received. 

Insurance  -  Raise the value of the contents from $227,000 to $606,900 and go with a $500 deductible.  Motion to accept, Joan Niewiadomski and seconded by Pat McFarland

 Staff meeting to be at 11:00 on Friday, April 24th.  Hired Jackie Walker Grebe to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00-4:00. 

Anna LaRue to attend MCLS Ancestry and Rides (book delivery) on July 15, 2015. 

E-mail Val Meyerson regarding Project Connect for community help. 

Directors Report was accepted by Anne Billiard, all in favor, no nays. 

Unfinished Business:

Book Club to meet on the 21st.

Anna LaRue’s evaluation was completed and pay raise given.

Second weekend of Aug. will have Book Sale during the Alanson Riverfest activities.

 Next meeting to be May 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Budget meeting to be May 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. 

Meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
