ALANSON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY
Regular Monthly Board Meeting
December 2, 2015
The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 p.m. Trustees present were Anne Billiard, Pat McFarland, Sue Warner, and BR Smith. Library Director, Anna LaRue, and employee Sherry Webster were also present. No guests.
Minutes: Minutes of the November 4, 2015, meeting were approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report:
• Bank statements and bills for November were presented;
• Motion was made by Pat to approve the bill payments for November; supported by BR. Motion approved.
• Profit and loss statements were reviewed.
• Total liabilities and equity as of November 30, 2015; $ 131,036.60
• Audit report
• Sue, moved to accept the treasurer’s report, supported by Pat, report accepted.
Library Director’s Report:
• Programs:
Story hour – numbers are improving
Book Club book of the month: “Orphan Train”. Meeting - January 19.
· Selected policies emailed to attorney for review and not returned yet
· Lighting issue in office and library area discussed
· Anna will be away during Christmas week. Staff covered
· Sue moved to accept the director’s report, supported by Anne; report approved
Unfinished Business:
• No logos submitted; Sherry will contact Casey for possible entry.
• Decorating for Christmas – 4:00 pm Friday, 11-4-15
• Alanson Open House – Friday, December 11, from 5-8. 1 dozen cookies from each trustee
• Friends Meeting: Book Sale March 12; Wine Tasting event date on hold; Book purchase for every Alanson 1st grader discussed; Next meeting after book sale in March.
New Business:
· Minimum wage increaseeffective January 1, 2016, discussed.
