ALANSON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY
REGULAR BOARD MEETING
              March 2, 2017

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski at
3:10 pm. Those present were BR Smith, Sue Warner, and Library Director, Anna LaRue. Anne Billiard and Pat McFarland
were absent. The newly elected Alanson Mayor, Greg Babcock, was in attendance also.

Minutes:Minutes of the February 1, 2016 regular board meeting wereapproved as read.

Treasurer's Report:

• Due to Anne's absence there was no treasurer's report.

Director's Report:

·         Cash and usage report was reviewed.

·         Program report:

o          Book Club met on 2/1/17; April book selection: everyone discuss a favorite book they have read

o          Ron Fowler Story Hour - May 16-June 20, Tuesdays @10:30 a.m.

·         Ron Fowler returns on May 24; Salary discussed

·Still no contact with Jim Gillespie in regards to Ukulele Program.
- July 16, from 10-3, Good Hart Mini-Fair application to be filled out; Ron has volunteered to entertain for 1/2 hour on that day.                                           ·Second grade class visit not scheduled as of yet; asking FOAL to provide books to give the students

Sue moved to approve report, supported by BR, report accepted.

Unfinished:

•• New trustee/treasurers position will be filled by, Janet Batog

·         April meeting will be April 13.

·         Visits to contracted and legal council meetings will be scheduled in May and June

New Business:

• Library Week is April 9-15

Meeting adjourned at 3:45, with the motion to move into closed session for Anna's evaluation.
