ALANSON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY

Regular Monthly Board Meeting

September 6, 2017           

 

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by Vice President, BR Smith, at 6:05 p.m.  Trustees present were Pat McFarland,  Janet Batog and Sue Warner.  Library Director Anna LaRue was also present.  Joan Niewiadomski was absent.

Minutes:   Minutes of the August 2, 2017 meeting were approved as presented.

Treasurer’s Report:

•        Bank statements and bills for August  were presented;

•        Motion was made by Sue to approve the bill payments for August; supported by Pat. Motion approved. 

•         Profit and loss statements were presented.

•        Total liabilities and equity as of August 31, 2017: $191,244.58

•        Sue, moved to accept the treasurer’s report, supported by Pat, report accepted.

Library Director’s Report:

•        Monthly cash and usage report was presented.

•        Programs:

                       Story hour will start -  9/26 and run through 10/31

                       September 20, at 7:00 pm; “ Michigan Weather: Predicting the Unpredictable!”

                       October 12, at 7:00pm; “Haunts of Mackinac”

                          Book Club book of the month: “All Girls Filling Station, Last Reunion”, by Fannie Flagg      

·         Ukulele Lending Program – ready ; Anna drawing up use policy

·         Anna will be attending UPROC conference on September 13 and 14.

·         Sue moved to accept the director’s report, supported by Janet; report approved

Unfinished Business:

•        Book sale profit was $1690.40

•        Visits to the West Traverse and Pleasantview township meeting went well

New Business:

·         None
