Regular Monthly Board Meeting

Dec. 14, 2017

 

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 p.m.  Trustees present were Pat McFarland, and Janet Batog.  Also present was Library Director, Anna LaRue,  Absent were BR Smith and Sue Warner.

Minutes:  Minutes of the November 2nd meeting were approved .

Treasurer’s Report:

  • Bank statements were presented.
  • In regards to the audit, the CPA claims the Village did not pay two 1/4ly’s., one in 2014 and the other in 2015.  Janet found one paid, but not the other. Will check with the Mayor.
  • Profit and loss statements were presented
  • Motion to approve Treasurer’s report by Pat, seconded by Joan, report accepted.

Library Director’s Report:

  • Programs:  

            Book Club of the month:  “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn”, by Betty Smith

  • Ukulele program still moving along.  Hopefully will start in January, 2018.
  • First of the year minimum wage goes up to $9.25/hour.  Only Robin and Mac need to be increased.
  • Donation of $100 from the Sturms
  • Anna will be gone Christmas week, Dec.23 – Jan. 2, 2018  Will have 2 ½ days to roll over.
  • Book mobile on hold at this time.
  • Janet moved to accept the director’s report, supported by Pat; report approved.

 

Unfinished Business:

  • Sue to send thank you note to Friends for $3,000 donation.
  • Christmas in Alanson:  Friends rallied and helped by the Fire Department to assist at the Community Center.  The Alanson Women’s Club stepped aside and the Friends of Alanson Library took over.
  • Next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 3, 2018
