Regular Monthly Board Meeting
June 6, 2018
The regular monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 p.m. Trustees present were Janet Batog, BR Smith and Sue Warner, and Library Director, Anna LaRue.
Minutes: Minutes of the May 9 meeting previously approved at the May 24th meeting.
Treasurer’s Report:
• Bills, and reconciled bank statements for May were presented for initialing.
• Motion was made by Sue to approve the bill payments for May, supported by BR. Payments approved.
• Total liabilities and equity as of May 31, 2018: $138,506.44
• BR, moved to accept the treasurer’s report, supported by Sue. Report accepted.
Library Director’s Report:
• Monthly cash and usage report was presented.
• Programs:
Book Club book of the month: “Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand”, by Helen Simonson
June 20, at 7:30 – Great Lakes Freighters, with David Lyle
June 21 at 10:30, K-2 United Way Action Day of Literacy
· The telescope has arrived; needs a storage case. John Riggs may build one.
· “Hoopla” program being set up
· I-Pad is ready to go for the satellite library
· Informational post card for townships, announcing the satellite library were presented and approved.
· Great Lakes Energy grant information was discussed
· Betsy’s evaluation is completed
· Sue moved to accept the director’s report, supported by BR; report approved
Unfinished Business:
• July meeting changed to July 5th due to the 4th holiday
New Business:
· No new business
