ALANSON AREA PUBLIC LIBRARY

 Regular Monthly Board Meeting

 November 7, 2018           

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 p.m.  Those present were trustees Janet Batog, Sue Brants, Sue Warner, and Library Director, Anna LaRue.

Minutes:   Minutes of the October 11, meeting were approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report:

·         Reconciled bank statements and bills paid for September and October were presented for initialing.

·         Discussion as to who is in charge of LAMA now, and who to call if needed?

·         Total equity and liabilities: $158,521.90 as of 10/30/18; checking: $74,649.71

·         Motion to approve bill payments for September and October was made by Sue W and supported by Sue B.  Payments approved

·         Motion to approve report made by Sue B supported by Sue W.  Report approved.

Library Director’s Report:

•         Monthly cash and usage report for October was presented.

•         Book of the month is : “To Kill a Mockingbird”, by Harper Lee

•         Programs:

There were approximately 28 in attendance for the last program, “Starry Nights” with John Riggs.

·         “Little Free Libraries” will be built by Woodland Structures.  Installation because of weather will be a factor.

·         Sherry is back on the schedule

·         Foyer  lights still not repaired

·         Discussed the issue of rolling over  vacation days

·         Sue W moved to approve the director’s report, supported by Sue B, report approved.

Unfinished Business:

·         None

New Business:

·         Christmas Open House – December 14, from 5-8

·         Christmas decorating – Dec. 3

·         Greg will take down the scarecrows

·         Next meeting Dec. 5
