Regular Monthly Board Meeting
July 10, 2019
The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:02 p.m. Trustees present were Janet Batog, Sue Brants, B.R.Smith, and Sue Warner, and Library Director, Anna LaRue.
Guests/ Comment: Sherry Webster – present to discuss the vacation policy change for part time employees, as it has affected her.
Minutes: Minutes of the June 5, annual budget meeting approved as read. Minutes of the regular June 5, meeting approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report:
· Reconciled bank statements for May and June, and bills paid for June were presented for initialing
· Pleasant View Twp. only outstanding contract not paid
· F.O.A.L has reimbursed the treasurer for the Ancestry Program
· State Aid has been received
Sue moved to approve the bill payments for June, supported by BR. Payment approved.
BR moved to accept the treasurer’s report, supported by Sue. Report approved.
Library Director’s Report:
• Monthly cash and usage report was presented.
• Book Club - Augusts’ read: “An Irish Country Doctor”, by Patrick Taylor
• Programs:
There were only 12 in attendance for the program by Tom Bailey L
Story hour has shown an increase in attendance – best numbers yet!!
July 31, David Kaplan will present the “ Titanic Musicians”, at 7:00 pm
• The Wortley’s were here for a visit
• Little Free Libraries are in place and loaded!
Janet made the motion to approve the report, supported by Sue, report approved.
Unfinished Business:
None
New Business:
· Book sale during Riverfest – August 10-11. Help needed! Set up Friday 8/10 at 4:00.
· Lynn Fraze will be doing a book signing at the book sale
· Call from Readmond Twp. questioning the possibility of a one year contract. Discussion
Next meeting August 7, 2020.
