Regular Monthly Board Meeting

September 4, 2019

 

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by Vice President, BR Smith at 6:00 p.m.  Those present were trustees Janet Batog, Sue Brants, Sue Warner, and Library Director, Anna LaRue.  Due to knee surgery, Joan Niewiadomski was absent.

 

Minutes:   Minutes of the August 7, meeting were approved as read.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

·         Reconciled bank statement for July was presented for initialing.

·         Bills paid for the month of August were presented.

·         Motion to approve bill payments for August was made by Sue W., and supported by Sue B. Payments approved.

·         Motion to approve report made by Sue W., supported by Sue B.   Report approved.

 

Library Director’s Report:

•         Monthly cash and usage report for August was presented.

•         Book Club selection for October is: “The Lost Girls of Paris”, by Pam Jenoff

•         Programs:

1.       August 28, at 7:00 pm; Gregory Sumner, “Michigan POW Camps in WWII” – canceled due to family illness.

2.       September 25, at 7:00 pm; David Lyle, “The Forgotten Battle: The Japanese Occupation of the Aleutian Islands in WWII”.

·         Next story hour session -9/24 to 10/29

·         Mobil township visits discontinued until spring

·         Seasonal heating check scheduled

·         Sue W. moved to approve the director’s report, supported by Sue B., report approved.
