Board Meeting November 2019

REGULAR BOARD MEETING

November 6, 2019

 

The monthly meeting of the Alanson Area Public Library Board was called to order by President, Joan Niewiadomski, at 6:00 pm.  Those present were trustees Janet Batog, Sue Brants, BR Smith and Sue Warner, and library director, Anna LaRue.  No guests were in attendance.

Minutes:      Minutes of the October 2, 2019 regular board meeting were approved as read.

                      

Treasurer‘s Report:

·         Reconciled bank statement for September was presented for initialing, as were the bills paid for the month of October.

·         Sue W. made the motion to approve the payment of the bills for October, supported by BR.  Payment approved.

BR, moved to accept the treasurer’s report, supported by Sue B., report accepted.

Director’s Report:

·         Cash and usage report was reviewed.

·         Book Club:  December selection - readers’ choice and no January book club.

·         Programs:

§  Story Hour - over until spring

§  Literacy Tutoring Program begins 11/14/19, with 3-4 students

·         mBank will be making another donation – need to qualify need.

·         One of the new computers has issues; Anna will talk to UPROC

·         No custodial service at present? Snow removal an issue as well.  No notice was given!

Sue W. moved to accept the director’s report, supported by BR.  Report accepted.

Old Business:

·         The new hire, Michelle Cooke, is working out very well.

New Business:

·         Christmas in Alanson is scheduled for 12/13/19 from 5-8 pm

·         Next meeting Dec. 3, 2019 at 6:00 pm
