OUR COMPLETE COVID PREPAREDNESS PLAN IS AVAILABLE HERE

With heartfelt apologies to anyone who was hoping to visit soon, it seems we got a bit ahead of ourselves with our plans to reopen this Friday.

Due to the extension of the governor's stay-at-home order and our designation as a public gathering place, we are unable to provide library services (including curbside pickup) until at least June 12th.

This is 100% my fault for misinterpreting the extension to State EO 2020-69, and I regret any confusion caused. We look forward to seeing you all as soon as we're able!

We discussed The Preacher by Camilla Lackberg.

The book for next month’s discussion will be The Dogs of Riga by Henning Mankell a Swedish crime writer. A portion of this novel is set in Latvia at the time when the Soviet Union was dissolving, and the various factions of society are in conflict with each other to take advantage of the resulting chaos.

The next book club meeting will be in The Chandelier Room at the Ontonagon Township Library at 6:00 pm on August 7th. Please join us to meet new friends and have an interesting conversation. Dear friends and patrons,

In accordance with advice from Governor Gretchen Whitmer's office and the Michigan Library Association, we have made the very difficult decision to close our doors and suspend ALL library services and programs, effective Tuesday, 3/17/20.

All due dates will be automatically extended, and late fines will not accrue during the closure. You are under no obligation to return items until we have re-opened.

We will make an announcement as to continued closure or a re-open date prior to April 5th. This will also be in accordance with state advice.

We expect significant disruption to interlibrary loan services during this time, but we hope to have drive-up/walk-up service available for picking up holds 1 or 2 days a week, as staff will still be in the building working part-time on essential duties and special projects (including cleaning/sanitizing).

We are making this decision in the interest of community health, and regret any disruption or inconvenience to the lives of our patrons.

Thanks!

Leo Siren, Director
